I am a research scientist at Carnegie Mellon University and an adjunct instructor for the CMU Human-Computer Interaction Institute.

I lead research to improve the design of AI and ML systems. I use UX research and HCI methods to support teams in creating trustworthy AI systems. When a system provide evidence of their capabilities and integrity, their users (and those affected by the system) can determine the potential risk in their context, and calibrate their trust accordingly.
